Cooling load check figures are a set of pre-calculated values used to verify the accuracy of cooling load calculations for a building. These figures serve as a benchmark to ensure that the calculated cooling load is reasonable and within acceptable limits. The check figures are typically based on a set of assumptions and default values for various building parameters, such as climate, construction, and occupancy.
The ASHRAE Handbook - HVAC Applications, for example, provides a detailed methodology for calculating cooling loads using the heat gain calculation procedure (HGCP). This procedure involves calculating the heat gain through building components, such as walls, windows, and roofs, as well as the heat generated by internal sources, like lighting and occupants. cooling load check figures ashrae pdf
ASHRAE is a leading authority in the HVAC industry, and their publications and guidelines are widely adopted by professionals worldwide. The organization provides a range of resources, including handbooks, standards, and software tools, to help designers and engineers calculate cooling loads accurately.
